Native Roots
In Durango, Colorado, Native Roots nursery and landscape recently moved it's operation to a new property, just in time for a Mother's Day opening May 9. Owner John Wickham didn't take possession of the new building and grounds until March 1, and the big move didn't take place until a week before the reopening. But they pulled it off - congratulations! Find them on Route 550 just south of town, and on the Web at nativerootsgarden.com.

Urban Roots
Urban Roots, at 1000 Acoma St., is billed as the only downtown garden center in Denver. It specializes in plants and growing strategies for city dwellers with small spaces or just containers on decks, courtyards, and balconies. Owner Diane Stahl is an effective advocate for sustainable living, appearing regularly in print and on television in the Denver area. She and her team offer a wide range of services, from garden design, consultation, installation, and just about anything else one needs to get growing in the city. The store is, in her words, a “funky green oasis in the heart of the Golden Triangle arts and cultural district.” Having visited, we heartily agree. Visit urbanrootsdenver.com.
